Recent Changes in New Mexico
The Veterans Administration has made some recent changes to the location of where loans are serviced for the state of New Mexico. VA Home Loans for New Mexico have been serviced through the VA Denver Regional Loan Center, but as of July 1, 2006, any VA loans for the state of New Mexico will now be serviced through the VA Phoenix Regional Loan Center. The VA Phoenix Regional Loan Center will also be taking control of all of the loans that are currently being serviced through the VA Denver Regional Loan Center for the state of New Mexico. If you live in New Mexico and you purchased your home with a VA Home Loan Guarantee, you must contact the Phoenix Regional Loan Center with any questions or concerns about your loan.
The VA Phoenix Regional Loan Center will also be taking over all control of the home loans that are serviced, or originated, in New Mexico, including:
- Loan status updates will now come from the Phoenix Regional Loan Center rather than Denver.
- Notices of all intentions to foreclose or defaults. If you miss a mortgage payment or have already defaulted and are about to go into foreclosure, the Phoenix Regional Service Center will notify you of your current loan status.
- If you are having specific unforeseen financial difficulties and can not make your mortgage payment, be sure to contact the Phoenix Regional Loan Center. They can help you find alternatives to foreclosure and may be able to offer some type of short term assistance.
- VA Home Loan Guarantee Claims. If you default on your mortgage payments and the bank or lender is forced to foreclose on your home, the lender will now need to submit their claim to the Phoenix Regional Loan Center for payment.
- If you live in New Mexico and need to contact the Phoenix Regional Loan Servicing Center, the address is: Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Loan Center 3333 North Central Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85012-2402. You may also call them at 1-888-869-0194.
- Conveyances or property transfers will all be handled through the Phoenix Regional Loan Center. This means that if you are planning to transfer the property title, refinance your mortgage, allow buyers to assume your mortgage, or any other action regarding your VA Guaranteed loan, you must contact the Phoenix Regional Loan Center first.
